Travel to Kaza –

We commence our Ice Climbing Course in Kaza, the sub divisional headquarters of the remote Spiti Valley in the western Himalayas in Lahaul and Spiti district of the northern Indian state of Himachal Pradesh.

By Air : The nearest international airport is in Chandigarh and the nearest domestic airport is in Shimla.

By Road : Regular private and shared taxis and government buses operate from Shimla up to Kaza and the trip takes 2 days. Expect to pay INR 1,200 per person for a shared taxi and INR 6,000 for a private car like Innova.

We recommend breaking the long road journey in Rampur which is 4 hours from Shimla where you can stay overnight at a local hotel. Start early the next day at 5 am, drive for 8 hours and reach Kaza by lunch time. After the completion of the festival, you can take a taxi back to Rampur. The taxi transfers are at your own cost but we can help arrange this for you.

Once you have registered with us, we will help coordinate the travel with exact details and recommendations to suit your budget.
